THE MISS BLACK
GEORGIA USA PAGEANT
The Miss Black Georgia USA Pageant is an official state preliminary pageant to the Miss Black USA Scholarship Pageant.

Founded in 1987 by philanthropist and award-winning author Karen Arrington, the Miss Black USA Pageant is a prestigious platform that celebrates the brilliance, beauty, and limitless potential of Black women. As a trailblazing organization, Miss Black USA has been established as a beacon of empowerment and inspiration, transforming the lives of countless women across the nation.
Miss Black USA, originally established in the state of Maryland, has grown and evolved over the years to encompass three divisions that cater to the diverse experiences and aspirations
of our remarkable contestants. We have the Miss division, open to women ages 19 to 27, the Ms. division for women ages 28 to 45, and the Talented Teen division for young women ages 14 to 19.

Scholarships are an integral part of our mission, and Miss Black USA is proud to have awarded over $700,000 in life-changing scholarships to date. As a testament to our commitment to education, our national Miss winner is granted a prestigious full ride merit scholarship to the University of the District of Columbia, which can be utilized for undergraduate, graduate, or law school studies.
Additionally, our national Talented Teen winner receives an annual full ride tuition scholarship to Delaware State University.

FITNESS (NOT SWIMWEAR), 20%
On-Stage Competition: Fitness is a key component to a successful reign for a titleholder of any pageant system. Here at Miss Black Georgia USA we are looking for young women who lead healthy lifestyles as they will be Brand Ambassadors for various companies and need them to perform at their best. Judging Criteria is based on Body Condition, Stage Presentation, Overall Appearance, Sportswear Selection. Contestants are to select a fitness (think cute workout attire) ensemble that best shows off their physique and personality.
TALENT, 35%
On-Stage Competition: Talent will be evaluated based on Artistic Expression, Technical Skill, Stage Presence, Professionalism, and Overall Performance. This should be a live performance and focus on engaging and entertaining the audience. Talent should not exceed 2 minutes (90 seconds preferred).
EVENING GOWN, 15%
On-Stage Competition: The evening gown competition is the most elegant part of the competition but is about the girl in the gown and not the gown on the girl. Judges will evaluate confidence, poise, posture, style, personality, charisma, grace, and overall stage presence.
Remember age appropriateness when choosing your evening gown.
PROJECTION QUESTION, 15 %
On-Stage Competition: Contestants will be provided a question per division. Judges will evaluate the delegate’s ability to think on her feet to form an answer to the question asked. Question topics can include community service, current events, or future ambitions. Contestants will have 45 seconds to answer.
Questions may be different for each contestant but will be the same level of difficulty.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The winner of the MISS & MS. DIVISONS will be required to submit video versions of their areas of competition to the national pageant office in preparation for the national Miss Black USA competition.
